Art at the Downtown Diamondback
We support local artists

The Downtown Diamondback features paintings from some incredible local artists.  Most of the artwork that you see on our walls is for sale.  To take a piece home with you just talk to someone behind the counter.

Featured this month: Terri Burke

When Terri was 9 years old her grandfather handed down his old C126 film camera and planted the seed for what has become a lifelong passion for photography. By the age of 12 she had secured a 35mm SLR camera and was learning her way around a darkroom.

After the birth of her first child in 2004 she embraced digital photography and the virtual darkroom in her computer. Regardless of the photographic tools at her disposal, Terri strives to document the world as she sees it and life as she knows it. Her eye is drawn to nature's vivid colors, especially in the little details, and she relies on natural light to record what she sees whenever she can.

Uninspired by a traditional framed paper presentation for her images, Terri has explored innovative printing technologies to enhance her artistic vision. She has been drawn to the texture of canvas and the vibrancy of metal as well as the three-dimensionality both offer to draw the viewer into her art.

Terri moved to the Winston-Salem community with her husband and two children in 2010. She is a juried member of the Winston-Salem Craft Guild, a member of Associated Artists of Winston-Salem and the owner of Catch a Spark Photography, a Lewisville based, lifestyle-oriented photography business providing amazing images of kids and pets that showcase their unique personalities. Terri is also a dedicated volunteer photographer with Project Pearl, a local non-profit organization that strives to find happy homes for the numerous healthy, adoptable animals at Forsyth County Animal Control. See projectpearlnc.org for more information about this wonderful initiative.
